I started with getting my current firmware version through the service menu by pressing INFO, MENU, MUTE, POWER in order while the TV is turned off. In this menu I found out that I have a quite new MST firmware version and therefore need to follow the currently newest rooting guide for F-series MST versions. The default PIN # for any Samsung Smart TV will always be 0000 unless you change it yourself. So when it asks you to enter your PIN # to successfully complete the factory reset, just enter 0000. One thing I think they should add to TVs is the ability to save your settings to a profile file that can be saved to usb and loaded whenever you need to set them up again. But I would dearly love to reconnect to the internet but I do not have an option to switch off updates. I can’t comment on Samsung, but on many TV’s there’s an option in the setup menu somewhere to accept updates or not.
